TVS Motor Company is gearing up for the launch of a brand new motorcycle, dubbed TVS Ronin. The homegrown manufacturer recently shared a block your date invite with the media for a launch scheduled on July 6, 2022, without revealing much about the upcoming two-wheeler. But images of the upcoming TVS Ronin were recently leaked online, offering us a sneak peek at what's coming our way. Here's what we know so far about the two-wheeler:
- Chassis:
The TVS Ronin is based on a brand new platform from the Indian motorcycle manufacturer, and will be unlike anything that TVS has on sale right now. As for the format, the bike is somewhat of a mix of a roadster and a scrambler motorcycle, offering a cruiser-like stance with go-anywhere abilities. It also sits on a pair of on-off road tyres, enhancing its scrambler characteristic. - Design:
Leaked images of the TVS Ronin show a neo-retro design language. The bike has a round headlamp which will presumably be LED, round rear view mirrors, and a tear drop shaped fuel tank. It also sports golden USD forks at the front, and has a blacked out engine and exhaust. A tan coloured flat seat and dual tone paint finish complete the bike's neo-retro look. - Tech:
The bike sports a circular instrument cluster, and it is rumoured that it will have a fully digital unit. Ronin will most likely also come with the TVS SmartXonnect Bluetooth connectivity features. Using this you can connect your smartphone to your motorcycle and get features like turn-by-turn navigation and caller ID on the motorcycle's instrument cluster. Additionally, the mobile app will also allow you to access your bike's last parked location, and will allow you to access and share your ride stats on social media platforms. - Engine:
While we will have to wait for sure to know the exact tech specs of the Ronin, it is expected to arrive with an engine between 200-250 cc, and is rumoured to be launched with a 225 cc single-cylinder engine, which will put out around 20 bhp and 18 Nm of torque. It is likely that this will be mated to a 5-speed gearbox. - Price:
The TVS Ronin will be positioned the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V and the Apache RR 310, and in fact, offers a completely new flavour in the brand’s product line-up, which include street bikes and sporty roadsters so far. We expect the TVS Ronin to be priced between Rs. 1.5 lakh to Rs. 1.65 lakh (Ex-showroom).
