2014 Auto Expo: Audi A3 Saloon Unveiled
Audi India has finally unveiled the much anticipated A3 Saloon today at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo. The launch however, will happen sometime in second or third quarter of 2014. Based on the company's popular MQB platform, the saloon shares its design style with the Audi A3 Sportback.
The 2014 Audi A3 offers a decent luggage capacity with 425-litres of boot space. Loaded with bells and whistles, the sedan brings a great sense of comfort and convenience. The list of features includes two-zone climate control, Audi's drive select system, a multi-functional steering and new MMI. It comes equipped with advanced safety features such as ABS (Anti-lock braking system) with EBD (Electronic brakeforce distribution), ESP and airbags.
The new A3 saloon is offered in both petrol and diesel engine options. The 1.8-litre TFSI petrol powertrain produces a peak power output of 168bhp with 320Nm of torque. The 2.0-litre TDI diesel unit delivers a maximum power output of 150bhp and 320Nm of torque. Transmitting power to the front wheels of the car is a seven-speed DSG gearbox.
