Ferrari Reveals the 488 GTB

We told you about it when Ferrari teased the car first and finally it's out. Ferrari has introduced the 488 GTB and it is more than a mere facelift of the 458 Italia. It comes with a large air intake scallop which represents a throwback to the original 308 GTB and in this application it has been divided by a splitter into two separate sections.
If you look closely, the front spoiler is wider and there's a new blown spoiler which helps improve downforce. The tail lamps too are tweaked but still remind you of the 458.

The cabin of the 488 GTB is very familiar but there are new satellite control clusters, angled air vents and a slightly revised instrument panel. Then there 2are the body-hugging seats along with a new interface and graphics for the infotainment system.
Of course, you don't care much about all that, it's the engine that's always intrigued you so here are the specifications. The latest prancing horse receives a twin-turbo 3.9-litre V8 engine which produces producing 670bhp at 8,000 rpm and 760 Nm of torque at 3,000 rpm.
The 488 GTB is propelled from 0-100km/h in 3 seconds, 0-200km/h is completed in 8.3 seconds before topping out at 330km/h. Ferrari also says that a lap around its Fiorano track will take 1 minute and 23 seconds.

Power is channeled to the rear axle through an updated seven-speed dual-clutch transmission which features variable torque management while the gear ratios have been programmed to deliver progressive acceleration when the driver floors the throttle. Ferrari also mentions that the 488 GTB's exhaust has been modified to deliver a 'full, clear and totally distinctive' soundtrack, but we'll be the judge of that.
Ferrari will showcase the 488 GTB at the Geneva Motorshow where we will know more about the car. So, stay tuned!
