KTM has now officially revealed the new 250 Duke, close on the heels of making the global debut of the 2017 KTM 390 Duke at the 2016 EICMA motorcycle show in Milan recently. The 250 Duke though will not make it to India and has been built exclusively for South East Asian markets.

The new Duke 250 retains the 248.8cc single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine which makes just 31bhp power and 24Nm of peak torque. The transmission is the same close-ratio, six-speed gearbox and the bike has an inverted front fork from WP and a new swingarm design, an entirely new exhaust system and a state-of-the-art dual channel Bosch ABS with radially mounted four-piston caliper and 300mm front disc.

In terms of design and looks, the 2017 KTM Duke 250 follows the same design language as the latest 2017 range of Duke motorcycles, sharing body panels and the steel trellis frame. What it misses out over the 390 Duke is the LED headlight and the new TFT display. What it also misses out on is the ride-by-wire of the new Duke 390.

The new 2017 KTM 250 Duke is built exclusively for South East Asian markets and it's still not clear whether the engine has been modified to meet Euro4 emission norms, as the bike will not be sold in European markets as well.
