2018 Audi Q3 Spotted Testing for the First Time

- Next-Gen Audi Q3 has been spotted for the first time
- The SUV will be based on the company's popular MQB platform
- The 2018 Audi Q3 will be seen at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show
The next generation Audi Q3 was recently spotted testing for the first time completely camouflaged. The popular crossover-SUV from the Ingolstadt-based luxury carmaker recently went through a facelift and by next fiscal Audi will come out with the next-gen model as well. The all-new Audi Q3 will reportedly be longer than the existing model, feature a sleeker design language, and some new styling cues as well along with a range of new features.

2018 Audi Q3 Front Section
Currently the Q3 is the smallest SUV in Audi's stable but that will soon changes once the carmaker launches the all-new Audi Q2. To enable a better separation between the two models, Audi has decided to make the Q3 bigger. Judging by the new spy shots, the most noticeable change in the dimensions of the new Q3 will be its extended wheelbase. This means the crossover-SUV will now offers much better legroom for the rear passengers, in contrary to the cramped second row seat of the current generation Audi Q3.

2018 Audi Q3 is Based on the Much Popular MQB Platform
The next generation Audi Q3 will be based on Volkswagen's highly appreciated MQB platform that will make the car much lighter. Audi will offer the SUV front-wheel-drive set-up as standard, while the top-of-the-line engines will come paired to the carmaker's popular quattro AWD system. Now Audi is trying to keep the design elements and features of the next-gen Audi Q3 a secret, so you'll notice that the test mule that has been spotted recently was covered in double camouflage. So as of now it is hard to tell as to what all has changed on the car's exterior profile compared to the outgoing model.

2018 Audi Q3 Rear Section
As for engine options, the next-gen Audi Q3 might see some mechanical changes but the list of powertrain will include three- and four-cylinder turbocharged units in both petrol and diesel variants. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual gearbox along with the S tronic dual clutch gearbox. While there is no word on when the new Audi Q3 will launch, we expect the carmaker of showcase the car is next year's Frankfurt Motor Show.
