Both bikes are highly anticipated and will the Chennai-based bike maker's first middleweight offerings that will take on the competition from Harley-Davidson and Triumph in the segment. Speaking to CarAndBike recently, Rudratej Singh revealed more details on the launch plans for the new 650 twins that will will be the company's first global models. The India launch, meanwhile, for the Interceptor and Continental GT 650 is expected around November, 2018, during the festive season.

    Bajaj Auto has announced that its motorcycles will see a hike of about Rs. 3000 to Rs. 8000 in the on-road prices, starting from September 1, 2018. The hike comes in lieu of the decision to make third party insurance cover mandatory up to five years on new two-wheelers by insurance regulator IRDAI. Not only Bajaj Auto, but the ruling affects all manufacturers and prices will increase two-wheelers by a substantial margin. New passenger cars will also come with a mandatory insurance cover of three years, as per the ruling.

    Royal Enfield Himalayan ABS Bookings Open Across Dealerships
    Royal Enfield dealerships in India have begun accepting bookings for the Himalayan ABS version, CarAndBike can confirm. The adventure motorcycle will be the first model post the newly launched Classic Signals edition in the Royal Enfield line-up to get the safety feature and will sport the same dual-channel unit that debuted on the special edition model yesterday. Dealerships have conveyed a tentative price of Rs. 1.79 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Royal Enfield Himalayan ABS, which will make it about Rs. 10,000-12,000 more expensive than the standard version currently on sale. The Chennai-based bike maker announced the introduction of ABS on its 500 cc models and the Himalayan yesterday.
