Looks like the festive season isn't just about new cars and facelifts this time; it is also slowly becoming the season of changes in the top-ranks of many automotive companies. Case in point, Tata's decision to hire Mayank Pareek, a former top executive at Maruti Suzuki. Internationally, it started with Luca di Montezemolo's, Ferrari's now ex-chairman, decision to leave. Joining this list of latest shuffle at the top of the ladder is BMW that hired Ferrari's former chief engineer - Roberto Fedeli.

This comes as no surprise as the Bavarian luxury car maker has been looking to strengthen its position in the face of constantly intensifying competition posed by Audi and Mercedes-Benz. That said, BMW is yet to reveal details about Fedeli's new assignment. Fedeli started working with Ferrari in 1988 and had been the chief engineer since 2007 before tendering his resignation in September. Though the timing of Fedeli's resignation co-incides with Luca di Montezemolo's decision to leave, Ferrari clarified there is no connection between the two events.
