EICMA 2017: Harley-Davidson Sport Glide Breaks Cover

- The Sport Glide is the 9th model in Harley's 2017 Softail line-up
- It gets the Milwaukee-Eight 107 engine as other Softail models
- Harley will be offering optional panniers on the Sport Glide
With almost all major two-wheeler manufacturers launching/unveiling something or the other, how could Harley-Davidson be left behind! The American motorcycle manufacturer launched the Sport Glide, which is an addition to Harley's latest range of Softail motorcycles. The Sport Glide was earlier a part of the Dyna family, but for 2017, Harley has merged the Dyna models into the Softail range and disbanded the Dyna family altogether. This is the ninth model in Harley's new Softail family can be ridden in town regularly and do some touring as well. One can specify the Sport Glide with or without panniers as well. The panniers offer a total of 25.5 litres of storage space.
(Harley-Davidson Sport Glide)Harley describes the Sport Glide as a factory custom cruiser and it is a part of one of the 100 new motorcycles that the company will be launching over the next 10 years. Like other Softails, the Sprot Glide gets Harley's Milwaukee-Eight 107 engine which is a 1, 753 cc V-twin motor. The engine has a lot of grunt, making 146 Nm of peak torque. Additionally, Harley will also be offering a windscreen of sorts that has quick release clamps, enabling the rider to take off/put on the windscreen in no time.
(Harley-Davidson Sport Glide)The bike gets these lovely Mantis cast-aluminium wheels shod with Michelin Scorcher 31 tyres. As far as suspension is concerned, the bike gets 43 mm upside down forks at the front and a hydraulic shock absorber at the rear which can be adjusted remotely for preload. There is full LED lighting and cruise control on offer as standard equipment. With the 2017 Softail Range launched partially in India, we are hopeful that the Harley-Davidson Sport Glide be launched in India.
