Mercedes GLA SUV's Video Teased; Launching Soon

Mercedes Benz India has released a video of its upcoming GLA compact crossover days ahead of its official launch slated on September 30, 2014. Mercedes is also using a ''#LiveRestless' tag, to keep the buzz alive about the vehicle on social media sites.

Underpinning the same platform as A and B Class models the new GLA Class is expected to be more powerful than its smaller siblings. GLA is the fourth vehicle plucked from MFA range to be introduced in India.

Mercedes Benz will roll out new GLA Class is both petrol and diesel engine options. Petrol variants of the vehicle are expected to house a 2.0 litre turbocharged petrol engine capable of developing maximum power output of 181bhp along with top torque of 300Nm. Diesel range will get the 2.2 litre, four cylinder engine outputting peak power of 170bhp along with 402Nm.

Power will be transmitted to front wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission in both petrol and diesel variants. There is yet no confirmation on the launch of all wheel drive variant of the vehicle in near future. In its segment, the new GLA compact crossover will compete with the likes of Audi A3, BMW X1 and Volvo V40 Cross Country.
