Highlights

Mitsubishi unveiled the MiEV Evolution III, ahead of its debut at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. The car has been designed to compete in the Electric Modified Division and the MiEV Evolution III is being billed as an "evolved version" of last year's MiEV Evolution II.

The MiEV III's powertrain mostly carries over from its predecessor but Mitsubishi has made numerous modifications to reduce weight and improve cornering performance. Some of the changes that the Japanese company highlights is a new carbon fibre cowl, an optimized spoiler, larger tires and an upgraded Super All Wheel Control (S-AWC) system which promises a lot of traction and reduce wheel slippage.

Four electric motors will power this car and churn out a combined 603bhp. They are powered by a 50 kWh battery which will take the car from the start to the finish. Two cars will compete in this year's race and they will be driven by Hiroshi Masuoka and Greg Tracy.
