After adding the fire breathing GT2 RS to its lineup a few months ago, Porsche have now added yet another GT series sportscar to the 911 fleet. The new Porsche 991.2 911 GT3 Touring Package (possibly one of the longest official name given to any car) is essentially a variant to the GT3 lineup. The new car is basically a standard 911 GT3 that will be exclusively available with only a manual gearbox and gets a variable rear spoiler instead of the large fixed wing that you get on the standard GT3. Incidentally, Porsche had a few years ago launched something similar, the 911R (limited to 991 units) which also had only a manual gearbox. At the time, Porsche had claimed that the 911R would be the last manual gearbox equipped Porsche 911 to be made which ensured prices for the car going through the roof in the used car market.

Nissan India has launched a new "Fashion Variant" of the Nissan Micra, just ahead of the festive season. The Micra Fashion Edition gets cosmetic changes, but mechanicals continue to remain the same.

The Tiago Wizz gets dual-tone interiors with piano black finish & sporty red accent and theres a new patterned seat fabric as well. What adds to the overall look of the car are those sleek roof rails which actually add a bit of character to the car.

What is possibly the most awaited car of the year, the Mercedes-AMG Project One has made its debut on the eve of the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. The Project One is as close to a Formula 1 car for the road than any other car in production today and even features a 1.6-litre turbocharged V6 engine similar to the Mercedes-AMG F1 car. The Project One also gets four electric motors in total to produce a power figure of 1000 bhp! And since the car weighs just 1000 kg, the Project One gets a 1:1 power to weight ratio (hence the name).

Hyundai has introduced a factory-fitted CNG version of the Xcent Prime, which is only available for fleet operators. Hyundai Xcent Prime CNG model is available in two trims - T & T+ and has been launched at Rs. 5.93 lakh and Rs. 6.12 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively.

The Frankfurt International Motor Show is the largest and most important auto show of the year for most automakers. The official brochure of the Tata Nexon has surfaced online revealing the variant details and features. The new sub-4 metre SUV will be available in four key variants - XE, XM, XT, and XZ+ and in both petrol and diesel engine options.

The GST council has increased the cess rate on larger and mid-sized cars in India. Smaller cars with petrol engines upto 1200 cc and diesel engines upto 1500 cc have not been changed as expected. The GST rates for small cars continues to stay at 43%(28% GST+15% Cess) while a new mid size segment for cars has been created with a new total GST rate of 45%(28% GST+17% Cess). Luxury cars that are not SUVs have also been given a separate segment with a new GST rate of 48%(28% GST+20% Cess) while the SUV segment takes the worst brunt of the new decision with GST rates now pegged at an even 50%(28% GST+22% Cess). Essentially, rates for mid-size cars are up b5 2%, luxury cars are up by 5% and SUVs are up by 7%.
