New Porsche 911 Spotted Sans Camouflage

- The new Porsche 911 gets a heavily redesigned rear
- The new 911 gets a wide LED taillamp similar to the Audi A8
- Porsche is expected to reveal the new 911 by 2018-end or early 2019
Porsche has been working on the next-generation 911 for a while now and after seeing several camouflaged test mules, we have finally come across a near-production model of the car in its undisguised avatar. Internally called as the 992, this latest image of the new Porsche 911 has recently surfaced online giving us a glimpse of the new rear and the OLED taillamps without any camouflage. The photo appears to have been taken inside a Porsche facility and the fact the unit still doesn't get a licence plate, indicates that it's yet to come out for road testing.
Considering we only have a clear view of the rear, let's start with that. As already mentioned, the new Porsche 911 comes with the new single unit taillamps which could be OLED units similar to the one seen on the Audi A8 sedan. While we cannot be entirely sure, the rear design indicates that this could be the Carrera 4S, especially the quad-exhaust setup. The rear grille also appears larger and the bumper gets a wider cladding.
A closer look at the image also gives us a glimpse of the front of the car in the mirror upfront on the wall. The nose of the new 911 looks sharper, and the car appears to get a new front bumper with a wide grille and air intakes that give the impression of one single unit. Although, we cannot be entirely sure as to how much of the front has changed from this image. We do see a black roof and a partially opened sunroof as well.
Mechanical details are still unknown and we can only talk about it once we get more information on the car. For now, the new 911 is expected to make in debut only in the second half of 2018, even towards to the year-end maybe, followed by a possible launch in the first half of 2019. However, the Geneva Motor Show is up next month and we are expecting Porsche to reveal the 911 GT3 RS at the event.
