Tork T6X Electric Bike Spied Testing In India

- The Tork T6X gets a 6 kW electric motor
- It has a top speed of 100 kmph
- It has a range of 100 kilometres on a single charge
Tork Motors is a Pune-based start-up which manufactures electric two-wheelers. It first showcased the Tork T6X, which was the first ever fully-electric motorcycle more than a couple of years ago. In fact, Tork went on to announce the price of the T6X back then too, at Rs. 1.25 lakh (ex-showroom) and also got over 1,000 pre-bookings for the T6X. But after that, there hasn't been much activity from the company. It was just recently that the Tork T6X was spied testing in India with full camouflage wrapping. We believe that the bike will be launched in India in either late 2019 or early 2020 and have a price tag of Rs. 1.5 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Tork T6X uses a 6 kW or 8 bhp electric motor which can pump out 27 Nm of peak torque and has an automatic transmission. Tork says that the T6X can reach a top speed of 100 kmph and will have a range of 100 kilometres on a single charge. The Tork T6X has a trellis frame made of steel and the battery pack is a stressed member on the motorcycle. Just one hour of charging can juice the battery up to 80 per cent.

The spyshots reveal that the Tork T6X test mule stays more or less similar to the model that was unveiled in 2016. The overall styling is sharp, thanks to the sleek fuel tank which is actually a storage box and the angular headlamp surrounded by camouflaged cowl. At the rear, the frame of the motorcycle is exposed and we believe it will be covered up by plastic panels. The footpegs seem to be positioned at the rear to lend a comfortable yet sporty riding position.

Expect the bike to get a fully digital TFT instrument console with smartphone connectivity along with LED lighting all around. As far as cycle parts are concerned, the Tork T6X gets telescopic forks up front along with a monoshock at the rear. Also, the wheels are alloys and get disc brakes as well. The Tork T6X will go up against 200 cc motorcycles such as the Bajaj Pulsar NS200, TVS Apache RTR 200 4V and so on.
