- Triumph will be launching the Speedmaster on 27th Feb, 2018
- It will be the latest addition to Triumph's modern classic portfolio
- Expected price of the Speedmaster will be around Rs. 10 lakh-11 lakh
Triumph Motorcycles India is all set to launch the Bonneville Speedmaster in India on 27th February, 2018. While the company sure did send us an invitation for the press launch of a new motorcycle on the said date, they did not confirm the motorcycle to be launched. Although, the image on the invitation is definitely that of the Speedmaster which we recently rode in the USA! Triumph has already confirmed that it will be launching the new-gen Tiger 1200 and the new-gen Tiger 800 in India along with the Bonneville Speedmaster. In fact, we recently rode the all-new Tiger 800 in the beautiful locales of Morocco as well.

(Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster First Ride Review)The Bonneville Speedmaster therefore, will be the first motorcycle launch from Triumph in 2018, in India of course. The Speedmaster is inspired from the Bonneville Bobber, sharing some of the parts and components but gets different riding dynamics and a few changes to the look as well, most noticeably, the pillion seat with a chrome grab-rail. Apart from that, the Speedmaster gets all-LED lighting, cruise control, ride-by-wire, two riding modes (road and rain), ABS (anti-lock brakes), traction control and lots of customisation options as well.

It is powered by the same 1200 cc high torque parallel-twin engine which makes 76 bhp at 6,100 rpm and peak torque of 106 Nm at 6,000 rpm and is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The Speedmaster will be the most affordable cruiser from Triumph, when it is launched in India.
The Speedmaster will be the latest motorcycle to join Triumph's modern classic portfolio in India and we expect the price to be around Rs. 10 lakh to Rs. 11 lakh. The Bonneville Bobber has been Triumph's fastest selling motorcycle globally and the company hopes to replicate the same with the Bonneville Speedmaster in India as well.
