UM Motorcycles To Launch Two New Bikes In September

- The first bike to be launched is the UM Renegade Classic
- The other bike will be the UM Renegade Commando Mojave
- The prices for both bikes are said to be kept below Rs. 2 lakh
UM Motorcycles is all set to launch two new motorcycles on 2-3rd September, 2017. In fact, the company has sent out invitations to all leading auto publications for a media ride on the same dates as well. One of the motorcycles is the UM Renegade Classic, which was first showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo held at Greater Noida. The Renegade Classic is a cruiser which makes use of the same 278 cc liquid cooled engine making 24 bhp and 22 Nm of torque that is seen on the Renegade Sport S and the Renegade Commando as well. The engine is paired to a six-speed gearbox.
As far as looks go, the Renegade Classic looks similar to the Commando, with the exception of a few chrome fitments and a windscreen, giving it that retro classic look. Also, unlike the other Renegade siblings, the Classic will have a fuel-injected engine and be equipped with ABS (optional). This is why UM Motorcycles delayed the launch of the Renegade Classic, which was actually supposed to be launched in 2016 itself. In terms of looks and expected price, it should rival the Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350, though we expect the price to be higher than that of the TB350.
The other bike, we believe, is the Renegade Commando Mojave. The Renegade Commando Mojave is a variant of the regular Renegade Commando but boasts of a new colour scheme (sand brown) along with leather saddlebags in order to distinguish itself from other Renegade motorcycles. From what we heard, UM motorcycles will try and keep the pricing of both the motorcycles below Rs. 2 lakh. UM Motorcycles have been in India for a while now, but haven't quite taken off in terms of sales.
