Ford India that is all set to launch the Figo Aspire sub-compact sedan in August, is planning to launch the updated EcoSport as well in coming months. While there will be minor cosmetic changes both inside and out, the company will tune the EcoSport's 1.5-litre diesel engine for more power.

Though the engine will remain similar to the existing model, it will now churn out about 9bhp more power than the existing version. The upcoming Ford Figo Aspire too gets this engine in the similar power state. The tuned engine will also offer better low-end torque to improve its drivability.

While the European model is offered with an option to remove the rear-mounted spare wheel, the Indian version will continue to feature that. The company has also tuned the vehicle's suspension, electronic stability programme and electronic power-assisted steering for improved handling and control. The vehicle's height too has been reduced by 10mm, though it's still unclear if the Indian model too receive all the aforementioned changes.

For the European market, the crossover will be offered with SYNC system with 4-inch color display, partial leather seats (only on Titanium variants), additional chrome detailing on instrument cluster and buttons and new charcoal black shade on center console and door boards. An optional winter pack will also be offer. It will include heated mirror, heated windscreen, heated front seats and rear ventilation. The NVH levels of the new model will be a lot better than the existing one, thanks to the improved sound insulation system.
