VinFast Joins Hands With HERE For In-Car Navigation In EVs

- HERE Technologies will be providing a connected experience on these cars
- VinFast will also leverage the HERE SDK for its connected car app
- HEREs maps will also provide charging points
VinFast is a Vietnamese manufacturer of EVs which is about to go global with its VF e34, VF 8, and VF 9 vehicles. To make a splash globally, it has partnered with HERE maps which was formerly Nokia's much-lauded mapping division. HERE Maps will be integrated into VinFast's vehicles and they will tap into the HERE software development kit (SDK) so that it can be integrated with their mobile app for a smart car experience. HERE Maps will showcase EV charging points through its APIs and will also provide navigation as a service model. This will add to the infotainment experience on its cars.

"VinFast has been making impressive headway in the Southeast Asia automotive industry, and are continuing to do so globally. We're proud that they have chosen our services for their first smart electric vehicle line-up. End-users can expect to be greeted with a unique IVI system that can also be connected to their mobile phones, providing a truly connected driving experience," added Abhijit Sengupta, the director and head of business for South East Asia and India at HERE technologies.
The VF e34 is already available in Vietnam with it having launched in December 2021. The rest of the vehicles are going to come in 2022.
