Volvo Working on a Performance-Line with Polestar

The German trio with their AMGs, Ms and RSs have ruled the performance cars scene for quite some time now. However, other manufacturers are also getting serious about taking the mainstream dive into the world of luxury automobiles. At least Volvo is. The Swedish carmakers' vehicles are super and all that, but even the top folks at Volvo feel its about time they got a performance line. Turns out, they have already embarked on that journey with Polestar.
Polestar has been tuning Volvo cars for motorsport purposes, which have gone on to participate in the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship, World Touring Car Championship and V8 Supercars series among others. So it only made sense for Polestar to be given the responsibility to make street-legal performance versions of the Volvo cars. For now, Polestar offers tuning service on the S60 and V60, along with engine upgrades for other models. Reports claim that Polestar will now start tuning Volvo crossovers like the XC60 and the new XC90.
Though modification details are yet to be revealed, I suppose the XC90 could do with more aggressive handling, aero and brakes in order to compete with the likes of the Mercedes ML63 AMG and BMW X5 M.
