2017 Audi A5 India Launch: Highlights

Audi India has launched the new Audi A5 range today we have all the highlights of the launch here. The company has introduced three iterations of the car - A5 Sportback, the S5 Sportback, and the A5 Cabriolet, priced at Rs. 54.02 lakh, Rs. 70.6 lakh and Rs. 67.51 lakh respectively (all ex-showroom). We have already driven all three cars and we have to say the new-gen A5 range has truly impressed us. This is the second generation Audi A5 that has come to India and from the previous generation India only got the S5 Sportback model. But now, Audi has decided to bring the whole pack to our shores, which means enthusiasts now have three cars to choose from, depending on their liking.

In India, the second generation A5 comes in the Cabriolet and Sportback body styles and this is probably done to make things a little more interesting. The A3 Cabriolet received an unexpected response and Audi was trying to keep up with orders. Hope it'll be prepared now. The next-gen A5 is based on the new A4 and borrows most of the styling cues as also technology from it.

As mentioned earlier, the new-gen Audi A5 comes in three models - A5 Sportback, A5 cabriolet and S5 Sportback, and. Both the A5 models - the Sportback and the Cabriolet come powered by the same 2.-litre TDI diesel engine mated to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission, while the more powerful Audi S5 Sportbrake gets a 3-litre TFSI petrol motor mated to a 8 speed tiptronic with DSP and sport program.
