Audi A3 Hatchback to Be Launched Next Year
The next all-new product from the stable of Audi will be the A3 hatchback, which is already on sale in several international markets. From the A3 family, the German luxury carmaker currently has the the saloon on sale in India. Because of its niche positioning, the A3 saloon received an overwhelming response and managed to sell around 1000 units of the car within 3 months of its launch.
Powering the A3 hatchback might be the same powertrains that do duty on the saloon; the petrol model of the hatchback will have a 1.8-litre TFSI turbo unit that is good for 180bhp and 250Nm. The diesel model, on the other hand, will feature a 2.0-litre TDI turbo engine that churns out a maximum power output of 143bhp and 320Nm of torque.
The A3 sedan, at Rs 22.95 lakh, is currently Audi's cheapest car in the market, but the hatchback might get an even more affordable price tag. We expect the company to price the hatchback around Rs 20 lakh, making it way cheaper than its rivals - Mercedes-Benz A-Class and BMW 1 Series.
Other than the A3 hatchback, Audi India will also bring in the updated models of the Q3, Q7, A4 and 2015 TT next year.
