Audi Q7 India Launch on December 10, 2015

Audi India has finally decided to launch the newest edition of its flagship SUV - the Audi Q7, later this month in India. While the SUV is expected to the go on sale in the Indian market from December 10, Audi will probably go public with the official launch date in next few days. The new generation Audi Q7 comes with considerable cosmetic updates along with some mechanical changes compared to the previous model.
Talking about the design and engineering of the new Audi Q7, the biggest highlight of the SUV is its massive weight reduction. The new-gen Audi Q7 is 325 kg lighter than the previous model thanks to the extensive usage of light weight, high-strength steel and aluminium that went into building this flagship SUV. The reduced weight has made the SUV more agile and has even improved its performance.
In terms of looks, you'll find that the new Q7 is quite identical to its predecessor, but the new style cues give the SUV a much sleeker and aggressive stance. Based on Audi's new design philosophy, the SUV has now shed its curvy appearance only to adopt sharper features. Some new exterior additions include sharper looking pair of LED headlamps, a large chrome grille with horizontal lines and bigger air intakes, which also houses the fog lamps.

Inside, the new generation Audi Q7 will come equipped with some similar cosmetic changes like redesigned upholstery and premium trim option, which adds that extra oomph to the cockpit. Further, the SUV also features a new advanced infotainment system that comes with Audi's MMI touch control unit with a large 8.3-inch touchpad with handwriting recognition that makes operation child's play. Some additional gizmos that you'll find in the new Audi Q7 include Audi connect, the Audi tablet for rear seat passengers, two sound systems with 3D audio and Smartphone integration with Google Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Under the hood the SUV will be powered by a 3.0-litre TDI engine that has been re-tuned to churn out maximum power output of 268bhp and develops 600Nm of peak torque. The engine is matted to an 8-speed tip-tronic automatic gearbox coupled with Audi's quattro system. As claimed by Audi, the new Q7 can now do a 0 to 100Km/h sprint in a mere 6.3 seconds, before reaching an electronically-governed top speed of 250Km/h.
While we did say that Audi India will be launching the new Q7 on the 10th December 2015, the company is yet to officially confirm the news. Although upon its launch the SUV will lock horns with the likes of Mercedes-Benz GL, BMW X5 and Volvo XC90.
