Bentley teases new SUV

The rumours are finally put to rest. After having previewed the SUV - the EX9 F Concept at the 2012 Geneva Motorshow, Bentley has published a teaser image that officially announces the arrival of its first-ever SUV. When it first came on the scene, a few eyeballs did pop-out but eventually we got accustomed to Bentley bringing out an SUV.

The automaker boldly states the yet-unnamed SUV will create a brand new market segment when it hits showrooms in 2016. Bentley, however, promises that it will be the world's most expensive and luxurious SUV and has plans to make it available with four, five or seven seat configuration.

The Bentley SUV will use the same platform as the next-gen Porsche Cayenne and Audi Q7. Bentley will power this beast with a 575bhp churning 12-cylinder engine that will send power to all four wheels via an automatic transmission.

Bentley also fleetingly mentions that it will offer this SUV with some serious off-road prowess and we can expect it to tackle the most difficult of terrains like the iconic Land Rover Range Rover. We'll know more about the car when Bentley lets us on a few more details but we expect the SUV to be displayed next year at some major auto show.
