Honda Mobilio MPV Launch - Live Coverage

The long wait for the much anticipated MPV - the Honda Mobilio - is finally going to get over in a few minutes from now. Team NDTV Auto is at the launch to bring you the live coverage from the event, which is set to begin at 10:30 AM. So, stay tuned and keep refreshing the page.
10:40: So, we are finally here and Honda is geared up to present its first ever MPV in India.
11:20: After the long wait, the launch is finally underway.
11:25 Mr Yoshiyuki Matasumoto, Managing Officer, Honda Motor Company is on podium to brief the audience about the Mobilio.
11: 27: Mobilio has been specially developed for the Asian markets, says the official.
11: 28: The Mobilio is already enjoying great success in Indonesia, with over 46,000 Mobilio sold there.
11:29: Honda Mobilio to have 3 variants: E, S, V. The RS trim only in diesel and will be available from September.
11:30: Mr Hironori Kanayamma, President & CEO, Honda Cars India is now stage to adress media.
11: 33: "Our aim is to provide products with high durability, quality & reliability," says Mr Kanayama.
11:35: Honda City has achieved the fastest sale of 50,00 units, and captured over 50 per cent market share in its league, he adds.
11: 36: With models like Odyssey, Step-wagon, Elysion and Freed in the global market, Honda sold over 5.5 million MPVs in the last 20 years.
11: 39: Honda's 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine is India's most fuel-efficient engine. It also powers the Mobilio.
11:40: The 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engine of the Mobilio delivers 99bhp and 200Nm, while returning an impressive mileage of 24.2Km/l. Whereas the 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine is even more powerful with 118bhp and 145Nm. The petrol engine returns 17.3Km/l.
11:45: Honda Mobilio measures 4386mm in length, 1683mm in width, and 1603mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2652mm and a minimum turning radius of 5.2m.
11: 47: The second row seat gets a 60:40 split ratio with fold-and-tubmble function, and slide & recline option. The third row gets 50:50 split folding.
11:48: The base luggage area for Mobilio is 223-litres, which can be further expanded to 512-litres in the 3rd row fold configuration.
11: 54: Mr. Jnaneswar Sen, Sr. Vice President - Marketing & Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd., is now on stage to talk about Honda India's MPV study.
11: 58: Honda Mobilio will be available in seven colours - Brilliant Gold Metallic, Carnelian Red Pearl, Majestic Blue Metallic, Urban Titanium Metallic, Alabaster Silver Metallic, Taffeta WHite and Crystal Black Pearl (Exclusive to RS trim).
11: 59: The rather sporty RS trim will be offered for sale from September.
12:01: Honda Cars India aims to take its dealership network to 230 facilities in 150 cities by the end of 2014-15.
12: 12: Honda Cars India finally announces the pricing of the Mobilio.

Honda Mobilio S Petrol - Rs 7.50 lakh
