  • New KTM 390 Rally to have more ground clearance, new swingarm
  • Parent company may introduced it as part of GasGas brand
  • Prototype reveals design inspired by KTM 450 Rally Factory

Latest spy shots taken near KTM's Mattighofen factory in Austria reveal a new single-cylinder motorcycle. There's still no confirmation on what this new model will be, but the images reveal the bike sporting the chassis and engine of the next-generation KTM 390 Duke that has been spotted multiple times over the past year or so. The bike sports a more off-road biased stance than the KTM 390 Adventure, so from all indications, the next-generation 390 range looks set to introduce a KTM 390 Rally version.

It's not clear if the new bike will be introduced as a KTM 390 Rally or as part of sister brand GasGas' product line-up.

According to some reports, this bike in fact could be introduced as part of the new GasGas line-up and may not be introduced as a KTM after all. Spanish brand GasGas was acquired by KTM's parent company Pierer Mobility in 2019, and the brand recently introduced its supermoto and enduro models based on the KTM 690 platform. There's no denying the styling that resembles the KTM 450 Rally Factory, and shares the bike's stacked headlight, as well as raised front fender.

While the engine and frame are shared with the next-generation 390 Duke, the prototype of the 390 Rally features a new swingarm. The wheels are also of 21-inch front and 18-inch rear combination, and the suspension is from WP. Going by the images, the model appears to be quite ahead in the production cycle, rather than being an experimental prototype. Clearly, the bike will be made in India, as are all KTM 390 models, but it's early days yet, to get a sense of when it will be introduced, in which markets, and if it's introduced as a GasGas or KTM 390 Rally model.
