New Audi RS6 Avant Spied Testing With Minimal Camouflage

- The new-gen Audi A6 Avant has already been unveiled this year
- The new RS6 Avant will shares its styling cues with the A6
- RS6 Avant is expected to share most of its components with the RS7
An early test mule of the new Audi RS6 was recently spotted with the least amount of camouflage yet. The new-gen model of the performance-spec station wagon was caught testing on the public roads with minimal camouflage covering the front section which is expected to have received some visual updates. The new-gen Audi A6 Avant has already been unveiled and the company has been working on a sportier S6 version as well, which obviously meant that the RS6 Avant was next in line.

Audi RS6 Avant Spied will share its styling cues with the new A6
Visually, as mentioned before, the car will get a new face with Audi's signature large single-frame grille, flanked by a pair of sleek LED headlamps, and a new bumper with two large air intakes of either end. The bonnet comes with prominent muscular lines adding to the car's aggressive face. The RS6 also gets a pair of new sleeker-looking outside rear-view mirrors, which look similar to the ones on the new A6, along with new triple-five-spoke alloy wheels and silver roof rails.

The rear comes with a pair of new LED taillamps, a chrome slat connecting the two units. The car features the A6 model badging and 55 TFSI engine badging on the tailgate. The RS6 also gets a new rear bumper with large over dual exhaust ports and roof-mounted rear spoiler.

Audi RS6 Avant Spied will share its mechanicals with the RS7
Under the hood, the new RS6 Avant is expected to share most of its components with the RS7 performance sedan. This means it will feature the powerful bi-turbo V8 engine that makes about 650 bhp. Additionally, we also expect Audi to come out with a hybrid version of the car, which is likely to borrow the hybrid setup from the Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid - the 700 bhp 4.0-Liter V8 aided by an electric motor that receives its power from a 14.1-kWh Lithium-Ion battery.
We expect the Audi RS6 Avant to be launched only next year, possibly in the second half of 2019.
