Suzuki Intruder: Price Expectation

- We expect the price of the Suzuki Intruder 150 to be below Rs. 1 lakh
- The Intruder 150 shares a lot of parts and components with the Gixxer
- The Intruder 150 will be going up against the Bajaj Avenger Street 150
Suzuki Motorcycles India is all set to launch the Intruder in India tomorrow. Now, this is not the Intruder that most motorcycle enthusiasts are familiar with, which is the 1,800 cc Intruder M1800. No sir! This is the all-new 150 cc Intruder which basically gets the same mechanicals and the platform of the popular and successful Suzuki Gixxer, in a cruiser avatar of course. The spyshots of the Intruder are already out and the looks of the bike do divide opinion but kudos to Suzuki Motorcycles India for bringing out a model in a segment which is not one of the most popular, so to say.
(Suzuki Intruder 150)As we mentioned that the Suzuki Intruder is built on the same platform as the 155 cc Gixxer, but gets a lot of body panels, which add muscle and give the bike proper cruiser-like proportions. From the spyshots, it can be made out that the Intruder gets a rather relaxed seating, like that of typical cruisers with forward set footpegs and foot levers. The photos also lead us to believe that the wheelbase of the Intruder will be longer than that of the Gixxer and the steering geometry seems to be a tad different than that of the Gixxer. Whether you like the looks of the bike or not, the Intruder will definitely grab eyeballs once it hits the roads. It does look bigger than a bike which has a 150 cc engine or so.

The Intruder seems to sharing a lot of components with the Gixxer along with the engine as well. However, we will not be surprised if the engine is tuned differently than that of the Gixxer's.
Coming to the rivals and the pricing, the Suzuki Intruder will be going straight up against the Bajaj Avenger Street 150. At present, there are no other 150 cc cruiser motorcycles in India. As far as pricing is concerned, our guess is that the Suzuki Intruder should be priced just under a lakh of rupees. In comparison, the Street 150 retails at Rs. 80,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
