Are Your Car Tyres Safe? Or Is It Time For A Change?

One of the most common questions that most car owners have is when's the right time to change car tyres. Changing the car tyre is one practice that can help you extend the lifespan and improve the health of your vehicle. However, when it comes to car maintenance, most of us find ourselves in a dilemma. This article enlists a few signs that your tyre needs to change.
Worn Out Tread Marks
All tyres for cars come with tread marks. These tread marks are essential for maintaining proper contact with the road. Moreover, the treads also allow the tyres to avoid a film of water from forming between the tyre and road by expelling moisture.
Tread marks prevent aquaplaning and loss of control. Over time, with extensive use, these tread marks can vanish or flatten. You can also use a depth indicator to understand the right time to change the tyres.

Uneven Wear and Tear
Tyres undergo uneven wear and tear for a variety of reasons. These reasons include loose ends in the wheel well, poor alignment, constant high-speed cornering. Uneven tread can cost you your vehicle's performance.
Moreover, the car will look unstable at high-speed levels. All car owners should watch out for wearing in the tyres. If wear is higher on one side than the other, we recommend replacing them. Also, opt for wheel alignment and balancing regularly.
Sidewall Damage
Sidewall damage is one of the glaring signs that your tyres require immediate change. Sidewalls are the section of tyres that are visible from the side. It is the part between the tread and bead of the tyre.
The sidewall is an essential section since it handles the vehicle's weight. Any bubbles, dents, or cracks is a matter of concern. Such damages can result in a tyre leak or a tyre burst at high speed.

Extensive Use
If you use your vehicle in rough and challenging terrains, it might require a replacement more often. The tyres face heavy blows on rocky and bumpy roads. Even if there is no visible damage on the outside, there might be internal structural damages. So, if you have recently had an adventurous road trip to any hilly terrains, we suggest you opt for a tyre replacement.
Life of the Tyre
Most of the tyres in the Indian market offer a generous lifespan of 5 years. After a decade of working constantly, any car tyre would have visible damage. Moreover, tyre quality degradation is directly related to mileage and performance. We recommend replacing tyres every five years even if you don't see any tread shortage or visible damage.

If you notice any of these alarming signs, don't hold out any longer. Take your car for a tyre changing session and restore its performance!
