Numeros n-First First Ride Review: Motorbike-Inspired EV Scooter

- Numeros Motors launches n-first targeted towards women buyers.
- N-first comes with larger 16” alloy wheels, and a mid-mounted motor.
- Announced a starting price of Rs 64,999 for first 1000 customers.
The latest offering from Numeros Motors is the n-First, launched recently at an attractive price of Rs 64,999 ex-showroom, Bengaluru. The electric scooter is available in three configurations – max, i-max and i-max+, with two different battery pack options. The n-First max and i-max come with a 2.5 kWh battery pack option offering a range of 91km. The n-First i-max+, on the other hand, comes with a 3 kWh battery claiming a maximum range of 109km and a top speed of 70 kmph.
We were in Bengaluru recently to test ride the electric scooter, to share with you what we liked and disliked about the Numeros n-First EV scooter.
Numeros n-First: Ergonomics and Convenience
The bigger wheels and a relative taller stance results in a higher seating position that could be a challenge for shorter riders. The seat per se is very wide and long, we found it to be very comfortable during our test ride experience. The instrument panel is small, but a dedicated mobile dock acts as an auxiliary screen for making your city rides easier to commute, using the mobile phone as the navigation device.

Numeros n-First: Ride Experience
Once on the road, we experienced that the 2.5kW mid-mounted motor offers enough juice to sprint through peak office traffic in Bengaluru overtaking other vehicles with ease. While the roads didn’t offer much of an opportunity, we managed to do a speed-indicated top speed of 70kmph on a empty stretch of road. The ride quality was good and n-First fared very well going through nasty speed breakers and some deep potholes that can easily unsettle a regular scooter with smaller wheels. A disc brake set up at the front with single-channel ABS would have been ideal for tackling obstacles like loose gravel and wet roads during rains, however, it wasn't like the drum bakes equipped with CBS were poor in braking performance. The setup performed well during our test ride.
We drove the scooter in Sport mode for most part of the ride and found it to be adequate for city riding conditions. The drop in charge wasn't sudden in spite of some spirited riding on Bengaluru roads, in the sports mode. For determining it's overall efficiency however, we'll have to do a detailed range test, once we get the n-First for a longer duration. The other two modes – Normal and ECO, are designed for regular routine daily rides in order to maximise the range. Availability of the reverse mode makes it easier to get the scooter out of tight parking spaces. The buzzer warning on its activation and a capping of speed at 5kmph in parking mode keeps riders and others in close vicinity alert.
Numeros n-First: Verdict
Numeros n-First is a unique offering in the consumer segment trying to marry the advantages of a motorbike and practicality of a scooter in an EV form. With a decent ride quality, good pick up and comfortable seats, it surely is a product worth considering. We only wish it had more storage spaces to carry out day-to-day chores and more dealerships to offer sales and service facilities within an easy reach. To conclude as a first ride experience, at a starting price of Rs 64,999, we recommend you check it out and if there’s service availability within a reasonable distance from your base location, the Numeros n-First is a good motorcycle-inspired EV scooter to consider.
