Chevrolet Previews 2017 TrailBlazer Facelift With Premier Study

General Motors has previewed the 2017 Chevrolet TrailBlazer facelift to the world with the new TrailBlazer Premier Study that was officially revealed at the 2016 Bangkok International Motor Show earlier this week. The TrailBlazer has been given the premium treatment with the Premier study that lends a more upmarket appeal to the SUV, whilst also bringing the design language in-line with the Colorado pickup and other Chevy SUVs sold in the west.

2016 Chevrolet TrailBlazer Premier Study
Based on the same ladder-on-frame chassis, the 2016 Chevrolet TrailBlazer Premier study is, in effect, how the 2017 version will turn out to be; minus the fancy and rather impractical 22-inch alloy wheels as well as the overwhelming cabin upholstery.

2016 Chevrolet TrailBlazer Premier Side Profile
For starters, the TrailBlazer Premier study nails it right in terms of aesthetics with the bold looking front fascia with the upright split grille, flatted front hood with muscular character lines and angular headlamps with LED daytime running lights. The bumper has been comprehensively revised with new air intakes and fog lamps. The front also gets healthy amounts of chrome that will be particularly appreciated by Indian buyers.

Chevrolet TrailBlazer Premier Interior
The side profile remains largely the same, whereas the rear gets subtle updates comprising of revised LED tail lights and revamped tailgate. Moving inside, the cabin looks well appointed and is now shared with the Colorado Xtreme concept also revealed at the Bangkok Motor Show. The dual tone finish is extended throughout the cabin with wood inserts, leather upholstery with touches of brushed aluminium. Tech upgrades include an updated My Link infotainment system with Apple CarPlay.

Chevrolet TrailBlazer Premier Rear Profile
Chevrolet has not announced any specific changes under the hood; hence, it would be safe to assume that the 2.8-litre Duramax diesel engine sold in India and the 2.5-litre oil burner available overseas will continue to serve purpose. With the host of upgrades, the TrailBlazer definitely looks fresh and premium, which will only help the model compete actively against the likes of the new generation Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour in India. However, do not expect the facelifted version to be launched in the country before 2017.
