F1: Stefano Domenicali Convinced Hamilton To Call Verstappen

- Domenicali was the one who convinced Hamilton call Verstappen
- Hamilton didnt apologise to Verstappen but discussed the incident
- Verstappen had called Hamiltons behaviour unsportsmanlike
Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali convinced Lewis Hamilton to call Max Verstappen in the aftermath of the 51G crash at the start of the British GP. Verstappen retired from the race and ended up in the hospital while Hamilton won the race despite a penalty which drew the ire of the Red Bull team and Verstappen himself who went from leading the world championship by over 30 points now trails the Briton after two terrible races.
According to Dutch commentator Olav Mol, Domenicali stepped in to convince Hamilton to call Verstappen who called the 7-time world champion's behaviour unsportsmanlike. Hamilton revealed that he had called Verstappen - but he also said that he hadn't apologised and Verstappen remained quite belligerent.

Hamilton was penalised for his contact with Verstappen in the British GP but he still won the race
"He (Domenicali) has been involved in this since the moment of the crash," Mol told Ziggo Sport.
"He kept calling Jos. He was on the phone every five or six hours. He kept asking Jos if Hamilton had called, and they kept telling him it hadn't happened. Then Domenicali said he would call Hamilton with the message that he should call the Verstappens," he added.
Emotions have flared up between Red Bull and Mercedes in the aftermath of the British GP where Red Bull even called for a review of Hamilton's penalty. Hamilton wasn't given a race ban as Red Bull's evidence was deemed inadmissible. Then in Hungary Bottas caused a crash which led to Sergio Perez's retirement and left Max Verstappen's car heavily damaged.
