Haryana Government Revises State Road Tax Structure
The Haryana government has lowered road tax rates applicable on vehicles for personal use. Folks looking to buy cars with a price tag of up to Rs. 6 lakh stand to benefit the most from the revised rates. Other changes in the process include a reduced number of slabs and simplified taxation structure that will hopefully encourage compliance. The amendments also intend to constitute a more dependable database along with debasement in harassment and corruption.

The current road tax structure in Haryana dictates a tax of 6 per cent of the value for cars that cost up to Rs. 5 lakh. Cars costing between Rs. 5 lakh - Rs. 9.90 lakh commanded a road tax rate of 8 per cent. Beyond that price bracket, cars attract the rate was 10 per cent.

The revised road tax structure in Haryana is:

Cars

Up to Rs. 6 lakh: 5%

Rs. 6 lakh - Rs. 20 lakh: 8%

Over Rs. 20 lakh: 10%

Two-Wheelers

Up to Rs. 0.75 lakh: 4%

Rs. 0.75 lakh - Rs. 2 lakh: 6%

Over Rs. 2 lakh: 8%
