Here Are 5 Futuristic 2-Wheeler Innovations

The two-wheeler industry does not lag in terms of technological innovations and features. Over the years, the small steps taken as well as the gradual development has led to the development of the high-end bikes we see on the road today. One example of such a development is the ABS, which was recently made a must-have component (CBS) in all bikes by the Indian government. Similarly, there are quite a few innovative technologies that we will witness in the future. Let's take a detailed look at some of them:

FI (FUEL INJECTION) TECHNOLOGY
In four-wheelers, the fuel injection technology revolutionized the vehicles forever by bettering fuel efficiency as well as the performance. Cut to today, we have the same technology being implemented in motorcycles. Its prime advantage is that the technology is eco-friendly and helps increase fuel efficiency. The tech also helps in starting a bike effortlessly even in extremely cold conditions.

SLIPPER CLUTCH
The slipper clutch is usually the selling point of high-end performance bikes. Manufacturers make it a point to advertise the presence of the slipper clutch on a bike to sell more units. The component prevents high-revving motorcycles from losing traction or even abruptly stopping. Bajaj's 400cc offering, the Dominar, features the slipper clutch. In the future, budget bikes may also feature this safety component.
RIDE-BY-WIRE
Even though the name suggests it, the Ride-by-wire tech does not take the help of any cable or wire to accelerate the motorcycle. Instead, the job is done by an intricately-designed electronic system. Even mid-range bikes such as the Duke 390 feature it. The feature uses ECU, different sensors as well as actuators to regulate air and fuel supply to achieve better fuel economy and performance.
IoT-ENABLED BIKES
Internet-of-Things scooters, as well as rideshares, have been making waves among the masses in the country. A Bangalore-based start-up offers IoT-embedded scooters that provide pick-up and drop services. This breakthrough is completely focused on the efficiency of a vehicle, its safety and its comfort.
TRACTION CONTROL
Used in super-bikes and a few other high-end bikes, traction control technology is still in early stages of development. It brings a lot of safety as well as control to the riders. The technology prevents the motorcycle's rear wheel from skidding or drifting – things that can cause an accident. Indian two-wheeler manufacturers may implement this technology soon in their bikes.

The two-wheeler market in India is huge, all thanks to the narrow and rough roads present throughout the country. With the addition and implementation of futuristic innovations, bikes will become safer and more comfortable for riding.
