Indian Chieftain Dark Horse Launch Likely

- Indian is going to launch a new motorcycle globally on May 11, 2016
- It will be the Chieftain Dark Horse most likely
- We can expect it to come to India in the near future
It has been a while since Indian motorcycles has been in the news. But the web is alight with news that the cult American motorcycle maker will be launching a new model internationally on May 11, 2016. While there is no official communication from the manufacturer, rumours are abuzz that it will be the Chieftain Dark Horse, the completely blacked out version of the current Chieftain. A hint of confirmation comes from the fact that the California Air Resources Board has revealed that Indian has registered the 'Chieftain Dark Horse' name with them.
Indian has tasted success of sorts with the Dark Horse, the blacked out version of the Chief Classic. Everything remains the same, more or less. The colour scheme changes to a gorgeous matt black from a dual-tone scheme. The dollops of chrome are done away with as well. The result is that you get a sinister looking motorcycle at a price that is significantly lesser. For example, at Rs. 23.30 lakh, the price of the Indian Dark Horse is almost Rs. 4 lakh lesser than the Indian Chief Classic at Rs. 27.1 lakh.
So we can safely assume that the Chieftain Dark Horse will be priced significantly lesser than the Chieftain. The price of the Indian Chieftain is currently Rs. 33.89 lakh. The features of course remain the same. You will have the instrumentation console mounted on the fuel tank, ABS, audio speakers on the fairing and the works. Of course, we are assuming that the new motorcycle to be launched is the Chieftain Dark Horse indeed. In case you want to read our review of the Indian Dark Horse, click here.
