Kia India has released the first teaser image for the Kia Seltos X-Line special edition model in India. First revealed to us in its concept form at the 2020 Auto Expo, Kia is calling the new special edition SUV the Project X, and we expect it to be introduced soon. Now, the teaser doesn't reveal when the production version of the Seltos X-Line will arrive, however, with the festive season approaching we expect Kia to launch it sometime in the next couple of months to cash in on the festive mood.

Earlier in 2019, Kia had introduced another Seltos concept called the X-Line edition at the LA Auto Show. However, that one was a more off-road specific model that came with rally lights, off-road tyres on custom alloys, and a front-mounted winch. The Seltos X-Line showcased in India, however, was just a more aggressive and dark-themed version of the regular SUV. The model featured a dark gunmetal grey paint job with heavy use of dark chrome elements, roof rails, orange accents, and a more rugged exterior.

Styling-wise, the concept SUV also featured a new dark chrome grille, glossy black 'Seltos' lettering on the hood, an aggressive front bumper with a wider intake, and faux silver skid plates. The teaser also reveals a set of revised LED headlamps and integrated LED daytime running lamps. The SUV is also likely to feature glossy black cladding, an X-Line badging on the profile, metal finished side skirts, smoked LED taillamps and a rugged rear bumper. Sadly, Kia did not reveal the cabin of the SUV.

The Kia Seltos X-Line comes with a gunmetal colour paint job with heavy use of dark chrome elements, roof rails, orange accents, and silver skid plates to add a more rugged exterior.
Right now, the specifications are unknown. However, we expect Kia to introduce the Setlos X-Line as a range-topping variant above the GT-Line. Engine options for the Kia Seltos X-Line are likely to include the 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol motor and the 1.5-litre diesel engine. The former is tuned to make 138 bhp and 242 Nm of peak torque and is likely to come with the 7-speed DCT automatic unit as standard. The oil burner is tuned to make 113 bhp and 250 Nm of peak torque and will come mated to a 6-speed automatic torque converter unit.
