Mahindra KUV 100 (Mahindra KUV100) Mahindra KUV100 is the most affordable option not just in Mahindra's line of SUVs but in the sub-four meter SUV segment. The petite SUV gets aggressive styling in front and offers unique 6 seat option inside the cabin. Under the hood, Mahindra has housed two new units from its mFalcon family of engines, the petrol variants are powered by a 1.2 litre G80 unit developing 82bhp along with 114Nm and diesel variants feature 1.2 litre D75 engine producing top power of 77bhp along with 190Nm. Developed in-house by Mahindra, the two engines are claimed to return excellent mileage, but the D75 unit is more frugal of the two. Maruti Vitara Brezza Mileage: 24.3kmpl Maruti Vitara Brezza Price: Rs. 6.99 lakh - Rs. 9.68 lakh 3. Maruti Suzuki S-Cross (Maruti Suzuki S-Cross) Maruti's compact SUV, the S-Cross, may not appear as muscular as rivals, but it comes with up-market interiors built in tandem with premium range from the carmaker. The compact SUV is available with two diesel engine options-1.3 litre DDiS and 1.6 litre unit. The claimed mileage for both engines is impressive, but the 1.3 Litre engine offers slightly more mileage than that of the 1.6 litre unit. Maruti Suzuki S-Cross Mileage: 23.65 kmpl Maruti Suzuki S-Cross Price: Rs. 8.03 Lakh - Rs. 12.03 Lakh 4. Ford EcoSport (Ford EcoSport) Ford's contemporary looking EcoSport SUV is offered with three engine option- 1.5-litre petrol, 1.5-litre diesel, and a 1.0-litre Ecoboost. Hyundai Creta (Hyundnai Creta) Hyundai Creta is reigning the compact SUV segment, the modish looking SUV is available with three engine options in manual and automatic versions. Nissan Terrano (Nissan Terrano) The Nissan SUV is a re-badged version of the Renault Duster, and gets the same range of engines as the Renault SUV. Under the hood, the SUV gets Mahindra's 1.5 litre mHawk diesel engine which has been tuned to deliver improved fuel economy.
