Mutt Motorcycles Akita 125 Revealed

- Mutt Motorcycles is a Birmingham-based motorcycle brand
- The Akita 125 is powered by a 125 cc single-cylinder engine
- Retro-styled urban scrambler is made for beginners, with 11.8 bhp
British motorcycle brand Mutt Motorcycles has revealed its latest model, called the Mutt Akita 125, a 125 cc beginner-friendly motorcycle featuring retro styling. The Akita 125 is a charming scrambler-style motorcycle with a simple design, but offering nearly all creature comforts, yet looking like a custom scrambler. The Akita 125 is also priced quite competitively, at GBP 3,495 (approximately Rs. 3.55 lakh under current exchange rates), and borrows styling cues from 1960s British bikes, with chunky knobby tyres on 18-inch aluminium rims and minimalistic bodywork.

The Akita 125 is available in a choice of matte black or silver colour options, and also available in a 250 cc version
The Akita is powered by a 125 cc, air-cooled, four-stroke, single cylinder engine, which is capable of generating a claimed 11.8 bhp, with a top speed of around 110 kmph. It gets a five-speed gearbox, and a generous 16-litre fuel tank, and with a kerb weight of just 105 kg, the 11.8 bhp should offer decent grunt to be a fun run around within the city.

The Akita 125 gets a flat wide handlebar, and retro-styled single-pod instrument console
The suspension set-up is fairly simple and basic, consisting of a standard telescopic front fork, and a pair of preload adjustable rear shocks. Braking duties are handled by disc brakes at both ends, but sadly, no ABS has been offered, even as an option. The Akita is available in a choice of matte black or silver, and for those looking for some more performance, there's also a 250 cc version available.
