Next-Gen Mercedes-Benz A-Class Winter Testing Teaser Released

Mercedes-Benz's next big launch is the new-generation A-Class hatchback, which is set to make its global debut at this year's Geneva Motor Show 2018. Ahead of its global unveiling, the Stuttgart-based carmaker has now released a new trailer for the car, teasing a camouflaged 2018 Mercedes-Benz A-Class undergoing cold weather testing. The new video teaser gives us an extensive sneak-peek of the car and the kind of testing it has gone through. While Mercedes-Benz hasn't announced it yet, we believe it will pull the wraps off the new-gen A-Class on March 8, 2018, the first day of the Geneva Motor Show.

Mercedes-Benz has been very open in publically revealing the different development stages of the new A-Class. Early last year in May 2017, the carmaker officially teased photos of a camouflaged prototype of the car which was being tested by Dieter Zetsche, Chairman of the Board of Management of Daimler AG and the Head of Mercedes-Benz Cars. Later, in December 2017, the carmaker released the official images of the cabin if the production version of the new-gen A-Class. And now, as the car reaches the final stages of testing Mercedes again gives us a glimpse of the car, before its official launched.

Mercedes-Benz A-Class will come with new exterior stying and a new cabin
Along with being testing in the harsh winter climate of Sweden, where the temperature falls well below zero-degree Celsius, the new Mercedes-Benz A-Class has also been evaluated in climate tunnel. The car was tested at speeds up to 50 kmph, with temperature going as low as -28-degree Celsius. The teaser also gives us a brief glimpse of the top angle of the car with its all-black glass roof, the cabin, and the car in the snowy road of Sweden.
As for engine options, we expect the new Mercedes-Benz A-Class to come with a 1.6-litre or a 2-litre petrol engine, and a 2-litre or a 1.5-litre diesel motor. All the engines will get a 9-Speed DCT gearbox, with reports of a 6-Speed manual transmission as well. The car might also get also get the new turbocharged 1.3-liter petrol engine developed by Renault and Mercedes, which is available in three power configurations - 157 bhp, 138 bhp and 113 bhp.
