Police Stunned After Catching 27 Passengers In An Auto Rickshaw In UP

The Uttar Pradesh Police were left surprised after they stopped an auto-rickshaw and found 27 passengers in the 3-wheeler, including the driver. A video of a police officer counting the number of passengers has gone viral on social media. This eye-catching incident took place in Bindki Kotwali space of Fatehpur in central Uttar Pradesh.

The auto-rickshaw was reportedly found over-speeding by the velocity gun and was chased down by the cops. Cops had a hard time getting the rickshaw to stop, and once they asked the passenger to step out, they were startled to see as many as 27 passengers step out of the auto-rickshaw.
Commercial vehicles are commonly seen overloaded with cargo in them, but it's rare to see an auto-rickshaw overloaded with passengers to this extent. An auto-rickshaw holds the capacity of carrying four passengers including the driver, while this auto-rickshaw was holding as many as 27 people, over 6 times as many passengers at it can hold. Uttar Pradesh Police has since seized the auto-rickshaw.
