Highlights

Royal Enfield has a bunch of new motorcycles lined up, one of which is the Shotgun 650. The bike has been spotted testing and can be seen equipped with all kinds of testing equipment. The upcoming offering is expected to be the fourth 650 cc motorcycle from the company after the INT 650, Continental GT 650 and the rumoured Super Meteor 650.  The Shotgun 650 is expected to be a single-seater bobber variant and is likely to be positioned at a premium over the upcoming Super Meteor 650. Royal Enfield showcased the SG650 concept at EICMA last year.

The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 could get a single seat, short fenders and a more dedicated styling

The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 will most likely use the same cycle parts as the upcoming Super Meteor 650. However, it will get notable styling differences. This includes new paint schemes, shorter fenders, a revised headlamp cowl and reworked panels. The single-seat bobber styling will also attract a number of buyers overseas with its more dedicated styling approach.

In terms of powertrain, the RE Shotgun 650 will carry the 649 cc parallel-twin air-cooled engine from the 650 Twins. The power figures could be different on the motorcycle but are likely to be in the whereabouts of 47 bhp and 52 Nm. The gear ratios on the 6-speed gearbox could be tweaked on the SG650.

The Shotgun 650 seems to be a while away from launch. This is considering RE is planning to launch the Scram 411 in a few weeks from now, the brochures of which recently leaked online. That being said, the company seems to have a busy year ahead with a number of launches planned.
