Despite the festive season, car sales in October, 2014 were below expectations. Major players, including Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai, registered a marginal growth in sales during the month. Here's the list of top-10 selling cars of October, 2014.

Fiat has seen a 50 per cent jump in sales after launching four new cars, starting exclusive dealerships, sprucing up after sales service this year, a top official said today.

As compared to Honda Amaze's 3,482 units in the festive month, Tata sold 3,524 units of the Zest. The top two sellers of the segment, however, continue to be Maruti Swift Dzire and Hyundai Xcent at 17,950 and 4,629 units respectively.

Festival season failed to bring cheer to car makers, as major players including Maruti Suzuki India, Hyundai and Mahindra were unable to register significant sales growth during the month, which otherwise has been one of the best periods for vehicle sales in the country.

The company claims to have sold 6,345 units in October, outselling the segment leader - Honda City; the car also received over 17,000 pre-bookings.
