Two New 2018 Harley-Davidson Softail Models To Be Launched

- The 2018 Harley-Davidson Softail Slim is likely to be introduced
- Three new Softail models will be added to Harley-Davidson India line-up
- New Milwaukee-Eight engine, updated chassis and suspension
Harley-Davidson India will introduce two new motorcycle models in the 2018 Harley-Davidson Softail range on February 28. While Harley-Davidson has not revealed any details of which new models will be launched, we have reason to believe that the two new models in the Softail family will include the Harley-Davidson Softail Slim and the Harley-Davidson Sport Glide. In October 2017, Harley-Davidson India had introduced four models in the 2018 Softail range with the launch of the Harley-Davidson Fat Boy, the Heritage Softail, the Fat Bob and the Street Bob. While there's no confirmation about which new models will be launched, Harley-Davidson could also launch the Softail Deluxe.

Internationally, the 2018 Softail range also includes the Breakout, but this model is not likely to be launched in India. The entire new 2018 Harley-Davidson Softail cruiser line-up features all-new chassis, new underseat hidden monoshock, and the new 107 Milwaukee-Eight v-twin engine, as well as the 114 Milwaukee-Eight v-twin engine in select models. For India though, Harley-Davidson may only introduce the 107 Milwaukee-Eight engine which displaces 1,745 cc.

The new Softail models will be powered by the 107 Milwaukee-Eight engine
The 2018 Softail range includes several upgrades, and according to Harley-Davidson, these are based on market research and to incorporate several technological advancements in the cruiser line-up. So, the four-valve per cylinder Milwaukee-Eight counterbalanced engine has been introduced, which promises more refinement and better performance overall. Harley-Davidson engineers also worked on improving the new bikes' dynamic capability, handling and reduced steering effort, so the suspension, chassis and even steering have been updated.
So far, there is no confirmation on which three new models will be added to the 2018 Softail range. Prices and other details will only be revealed when Harley-Davidson India announces prices and other details on February 28.
