2026 Bajaj Pulsar N160: Variants Explained

With the launch of the N160 S and N160 SS, Bajaj Auto has expanded the Pulsar N160 lineup to three trim levels. The existing N160 sits alongside as the entry point in the range with its two-valve engine. The two new trim levels move to a new four-valve motor and add more tech, with the SS being the top-spec model. Here's what separates the three.

Bajaj Pulsar N160

The standard N160 remains the bike most buyers are already familiar with. It continues with the 164.9cc, two-valve, air-cooled engine that produces 15.8 bhp and 14.65 Nm, paired with a 5-speed gearbox.

Bajaj had already given the motorcycle a sizeable update earlier this year, adding USD forks, dual-channel ABS, an assist and slipper clutch, projector LED lighting and Bluetooth connectivity. Depending on the variant, the standard model is offered with an LCD unit with a Bluetooth connectivity option along with four ride modes: Road, Rain, Off-road and Sport.

One can choose between single-channel ABS with a rear drum brake or dual-channel ABS with a rear disc, along with single and split-seat options. Prices continue to top out at Rs 1.32 lakh (ex-showroom).

New Bajaj Pulsar N160 S

Think of the N160 S as the motorcycle for riders who want the new engine but don't necessarily need every electronic feature Bajaj has on offer. At Rs 1.33 lakh (ex-showroom), it is only slightly more expensive than the standard top-spec N160 but gets a long list of changes.

The highlight is the new 164.5cc, oil-cooled, four-valve engine, which makes18.24 bhp and14.4 Nm. It is paired with an electronic throttle with Road, Rain, Sport and Off-road riding modes, along with Crawl tech.

Beyond the engine, the N160 S also gets a 300 mm front disc, 37mm USD forks, a 130-section radial rear tyre, dual-channel ABS, Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation through its LCD. It stops short of offering traction control or a TFT console and features that come bundled with it.

New Bajaj Pulsar N160 SS

The N160 SS takes the N160 S as its starting point and layers on more technology. The engine, chassis and hardware remain unchanged, so it still gets the same 18.24 bhp four-valve engine, ride-by-wire throttle, riding modes and Crawl Technology.

The difference is in the rider interface. The SS swaps the LCD unit for a 5-inch TFT display with Google Maps mirroring, adds traction control, Wi-Fi connectivity and adjustable brake and clutch levers. It also gets fresh graphics, coloured alloy wheels and claimed tweaks to the riding position. Those additions push the price up to Rs 1.42 lakh (ex-showroom).

Which One Should You Pick?

The standard N160 remains the value option for riders who are happy with the existing two-valve engine. The N160 S is where the real step up begins, thanks to the new four-valve motor and ride-by-wire technology. Spend another Rs 9,000, and the N160 SS adds traction control, the TFT display and Google Maps mirroring.
