Highlights

  • TVS Dazz is a 110 cc scooter
  • It is sold in some South Asian Countries
  • It was showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo

TVS is surely gearing up to launch new products in the scooter segment in India. Recently, the TVS Dazz was spotted testing in India near Bengaluru. The TVS Dazz was also showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo but wasn't introduced in the Indian market. It was manufactured for south-east Asian markets such as Indonesia. TVS manufactures the Dazz in both carburetted and fuel-injected version. But whether TVS will bring both variants to India is still not clear. The Dazz gets a 110 cc single-cylinder engine which is air-cooled. The engine makes 8.57 bhp at 7,500 rpm and a peak torque of 8.3 Nm at 5,500 rpm and is paired to a CVT unit.

In terms of equipment and design, the Dazz gets a rather peculiar design with trendy graphics. The Dazz gets large, 14-inch wheels and telescopic suspension up front and a single shock absorber at the rear. There is a 200 mm disc up front and a 130 mm drum at the rear. The scooter weighs only 93 kgs and if it does get launched in India, it will be joining the Scooty Zest and the Jupiter in the 110 cc portfolio of TVS. We expect it to be priced at around Rs. 55,000 to Rs. 60,000.

TVS is also looking to launch a 125 cc scooter to take on the Honda Grazia. From what we hear, the new scooter could be launched in the first quarter of 2018 and will be getting features by the bucket load. For example, the instrumentation console will be fully digital. TVS ended the year on a high with the launch of the much awaited Apache RR 310, its first ever fully-faired motorcycle and its most powerful road-going bike yet.
