Ford India sold 12,762 vehicles in combined domestic wholesales and exports in November, compared to 12,050 vehicles in the corresponding month last year. November exports stood at 7,101 vehicles against 4,141 vehicles a year ago, while domestic wholesales were 5,661 vehicles compared to 7,909 units sold in the same period last year.
"The perceived improvement in consumer sentiment is yet to translate into better sales for the automotive industry. A lackluster festive season was certainly not what the industry expected. While we are confident of the long-term growth potential of the Indian market, we continue to be cautiously optimistic in the near-term," said Anurag Mehrotra, executive director, Marketing, Sales and Service at Ford India.
Ford India commenced retail distribution of Ford genuine service parts in November with the appointment of its first exclusive distributor - Eminent Auto Parts -- for the Delhi Region.
Easy availability of Ford genuine parts will enhance customer convenience and access to competitively priced, high-quality auto parts. Ford India plans to soon expand retail distribution of genuine parts to Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and East of India.
Strengthening its sales and service footprint, Ford India inaugurated five new touch points in Chandigarh tri-city and Punjab in the past month. The recently inaugurated touch points include the first Ford Quick Lane in Chandigarh among other sales, service and spares outlets.
