Based on the Grand i10 hatchback, the sub-compact sedan shares engine and components with the former. The car has the same 1.1-litre U2 CRDi diesel and 1.2-litre Kappa2 petrol engines, powering the Grand i10. With an extra-ordinary 24.4kmpl (ARAI certified) mileage, the Xcent diesel is the most fuel efficient car of its league. A 5-speed manual transmission comes standard on the diesel and the petrol version of the Xcent, while a 4-speed automatic gearbox is offered in the top-end trim of the petrol variant.
What gives the Xcent a competitive advantage over its rivals like Swift Dzire and Honda Amaze are a number of first-in-class features such as rear AC vents, smart key with push button start, rear parking camera with sensors, 15 inches diamond cut alloy wheels, 2 DIN audio with USB, CD player with 1 GB internal memory, auto folding mirrors, electro-chromic mirror ad one-touch electric trunk opening. The Hyundai Xcent will also offer best-in-class boot space to its buyers.
