New Honda Activa 125 coming soon; bookings open

Unveiled at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo in February, the new Honda Activa 125 is now all set to be launched in India, as the company opens pre-bookings for the scooter. The new scooter can be booked by paying a token amount of Rs 5,000. The vehicle will be made available in two variants Standard (with drum brakes) and Deluxe (Disc brakes & alloys), and is expected to come at a starting price of Rs 58,000-60,000, which will make it the most expensive scooter of the Activa family. The Deluxe brake version of the scooter will cost even higher.

If we talk about the styling, the new Activa 125 looks to have taken its design cues from the Aviator, especially the headlight and front chrome bar. The new scooter will derive its power from a 125cc, four-stroke, single cylinder engine that mated to a V-Matic CVT gearbox will churn out a maximum power of 8.6bhp and a peak torque of 10.12Nm.

India's first 125cc Activa will be made available in four colours - midnight blue, pearl white, sword silver and black.
