Pros Cons of Mahindra XUV500

Pros

  • Looks better than before. Facelift ups the premium quotient
  • Seats are well bolstered
  • More power available on the diesel

Cons

  • There's a hint of body roll
  • Low on power at lower rpms
  • Understeers when you take a corner

Verdict

Mahindra is offering some new colours on the XUV500 - Crimson Red and Mystic copper, both of which we did not get to see; but the Crimson Red looked promising on the presentation board. Mahindra will hope the refresh brings its customer base back into M&M showrooms and more importantly, back to driving the once popular XUV500.

Expect the new Evoque to still get a lot of attention, primarily for retaining its compact size - something that is gaining ground as a requirement in India - especially as more women are now buying premium cars, and also the fact that more premium car buyers are choosing to drive themselves.
