2014 BMW X5 Launching Soon
BMW India will launch the updated X5 (Codenamed F15) by the end of this month. The SUV was first unveiled at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo. Initially, the new X5 will be offered with a 3.0-litre, 258bhp diesel engine. The new X5 is bigger, bolder and sportier than its predecessor. The new LED integrated headlamps and wide kidney grilles with chrome borders are the significant exterior updates.
Despite being larger than its predecessor, it manages to weigh lesser, thanks to several weight saving technologies used by BMW. The interior of the new X5 is more up-market with various cutting-edge technologies and features such as 360 degree surround view parking assistant, a new four round gauges on instrument panel, road sign information, ventilation systems with black panel technology and more.
The SUV will be available with five and seven seat options. The bookings are open for the 3.0-litre version of the new BMW X5 at Rs.5 lakh across the nation. Deliveries will be made by early June 2014. The new BMW X5 will be brought through CKD (completely built unit) route, and is likely to be priced around Rs. 70 lakh (for base five-seater version) and Rs. 72-74 lakh (for top-end seven-seater version). A 218bhp, 2.0-litre diesel engine powered X5 xDrive25d variant is also on cards, which was showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo. It will be pitted against the popular Mercedes ML 250 CDI SUV.
