2016 Detroit Motor Show: Chevrolet Bolt's Specifications Revealed

The Bolt features a 60 kilowatt hour lithium-ion battery pack and an electric motor that develops 200bhp and up to 360 Nm of torque. For a car its size, that is pretty good and considering that it's an all-electric car that's even better.
According to Chevrolet, the Bolt will be capable of going from 0-100km/h in close to 7 seconds and top speed is rated at somewhere close to 146km/h. Beside this, as we've said earlier, the Bolt will be capable of traveling for more than 321km on a single charge.
Chevrolet has also let out information about the weight of the battery and that figure stands at 435 kg. According to the folks at Chevrolet, the nickel-rich lithium-ion chemistry provides improved thermal operating performance over other chemistries. The battery also comes standard with an 8-year/ 100,000 km limited warranty.
When the battery is depleted, owners can use the car's 7.2 kW on board charger. Chevrolet says this will provide customers with about 80 km of range in less than two hours when connected to a 240 volt wall box. The Bolt will also come with the option of a DC Fast Charger which will give the owners a range of 144km in just 30 minutes.

The Bolt will also come with a regenerative braking system. However, this particular system is special as it allows for one pedal driving. The people at Chevrolet explain this by stating that when drivers press and hold the Regen on Demand paddle they can bring the vehicle to a complete stop by simply lifting their foot off the accelerator.
The Bolt is the company's first new electric vehicle in 20 years and it's a good way to take the company in a new direction. We hope to see more products spawning out of this technology.
