2017 Nissan Micra To Be Launched In Early June

- 2017 Nissan Micra will be launched on the 2nd of June in India
- The updated Micra will come with minor cosmetic updates and new features
- Mechanically, the 2017 Nissan Micra will remain unchanged
Nissan will be launching an updated 2017 version of the Micra hatchback on the 2nd of June in India. The company has already started posting teaser images of the car on social media websites, announcing its imminent launch. The 2017 Nissan Micra will come with some minor cosmetic updates along with a bunch of new features which are a value addition to the hatchback. The updated Micra will be the second car to be introduced by the company this year, following the launch of the 2017 Nissan Terrano.
Interestingly, Nissan has been smartly hinting at some of the new features that will be offered with the revised Micra hatchback through its social media posts. For instance, the latest teaser image of the car shows a long shot view of the new Micra with an illuminated silhouette of a peacock with the caption - 'IT CAN SENSE RAIN'. This indicates at the fact that the car will come with rain sensing wipers. Other features that we expect to see in the soon-to-be-launched Nissan Micra include - rear parking sensors, rear parking camera, touchscreen infotainment display and more.

Visually, most of the car is expected to remain unchanged but we might see some styling tweaks here and there. Also with all the new features, the cabin might look a bit fresh but the overall design and layout will remain unchanged. On the mechanical front, the upcoming Nissan Micra will come with the same 1.2-litre petrol engine that churns out 76 bhp and a 1.5-litre diesel engine that produces 63 bhp. Both engines come mated to a 5-speed manual transmission as standard whereas, the petrol trim also comes with the option of a CVT variant. The Micra returns an ARAI certified fuel economy of 19.34 kmpl on the petrol and 23.08 kmpl on the diesel.

We expect to see a slight price hike considering the new features that are on offer, so expect a bump in price of Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 15,000 over the asking price of the car. In India, the Nissan Micra rivals the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Swift, Hyundai Grand i10 and the Honda Brio.
